About Me | Cancer Management | Walnut Creek, CA

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with an additional  California Teaching Credential and BS Degree in Nursing. I have specialized for years in issues related to children, individuals, couples and family therapy and presently maintain a private practice located in both Walnut Creek and San Ramon.

My early background includes ten years of nursing experience in maternal and infant child care, emmergency room, and intensive care.  I have worked for over ten years as a marriage and family therapist and more than thirty years in education to include teaching and administration.  I graduated from Keuka College for Women (located in NY state), St. Mary's College, and obtained my master's degree in clinical psychology at John F Kennedy University specializing in child, individual, couples, and family  therapy and health issues.  I currently serve as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients.
My areas of expertise are:

  • Parent Education and Skills Development
  • Child Development and Behavioral Issues
  • Individual and Family Life Cycle Issues
  • Self Esteem and Personal Development
  • Couples, Individuals, and Marriage Relationship Skills to include Communication and Conflict Resolution
  • Managing LifeThreatening Health Issues:  Navigating Cancer and Health Challenges Successfully.  I am a 3 yr. cancer survivor.
  • Trauma, Anxiety and Panic
  • Patterns of Self Destruction
  • Management Skills related to Anger and Violence

In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, I have presented at National Teaching Conferences and to general audiences, speaking on the topics of self-esteem, child development, parent education and right-left brain development.  I am particularly interested in  Dr. Amen's theories related to Changing the Brain as a means to changing one's life.

I think of myself as an interactive, solution-focused therapist whose approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges while reauthoring your life. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help you build on your strengths and attain the personal growth you are committed to accomplishing.
